Shihan Robert Kane, 7th Dan
Tenshinkan Karate Federation U.K.
Chief Instructor.

Introduction

Shihan Robert Kane has now been a Martial Artist for over 40 years. He is currently the United Kingdom Chief Instructor for Tenshinkan Karatedo Federation, as well as Chief Judge and Referee. Over the years he has travelled the world training and teaching karate. In particular he has visited the home of Tenshinkan in Japan many times to study and train with World Chief Instructor - Kancho Mamoru Miwa, 10th Dan. Many thousands of students have passed through his dojos in the U.K. and some of these, like the Instructors featured on this web site, owe their skills to his unique brand of teaching. Shihan Kane first began training at the age of 15 and in his 40+ years of training and teaching has risen to the rank of 7th Dan - awarded to him by Kancho Miwa in October 2006. Personal achievements aside, his most enduring achievement is the legacy of the organization that is now the United Kingdom Federation. But as Shihan Robert has declared, "There is still much to do. I am working on a new training syllabus which I began thinking about when I was in South Africa last year. I want to have more Instructors' classes as I have a wealth of knowledge that I need to get across to them and thus the whole Federation.
